Project #1 Story Pitches

1) Title: New Security Cameras to Arrive on Route 1

By next fall 5 new security cameras will be placed at the University View and the Varsity, as The Diamondback reported. It will cost about $65,000 to install. I can do man on the street interviews with residents of those apartment buildings. I can interview a public relations officer from the police department. I can shoot video of where the cameras will be installed, as well as cars driving down route 1.

2) Title: Prince George's County residents Speak up on School Boundary Changes

Changes to school boundaries may impact where students go to high school and middle school. Some schools have higher test scores or reputations, which has led the school board to hold a meeting on Feb. 18 to allow parents and students to address the concerns. I could go to the meeting and speak with students, parents, and school administrators. I can get b-roll of the school buildings and try to do man on the street interviews with residents of the community.
